Rules

How it works

• Pick a word, enter your website, and pay to claim it.
• Your site shows on the word page and the board.
• New claims are locked for 60 minutes. Nobody can take the word in that window.
• After that, anyone can take it by paying the take price.
• Each takeover raises the price by 50%, rounded to whole dollars.

What you can list

• A real website you control. Enter the domain, e.g. your-site.com.
• No chat or invite links (Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp, and similar).
• No adult or sexual content.
• Link shorteners and redirect-only URLs may be removed.

Payments

• Payments are final. No refunds if you get taken later.
• Tax may be added at checkout, depending on your location.
• The word is claimed when payment completes. Abandoned checkouts do not count.

Moderation

Listings are public. We may remove any listing without refund for abuse, profanity, spam, impersonation, or malicious content. We may add, remove, or reset words at any time.

Disclaimer

Claiming a word does not give you trademark or other legal rights to that word. ownwords is a public board, not a registry.
